collaboration
collective intelligence
Collective intelligence is a concept of a type of shared intelligence that arises from the collaboration of many individuals in their diversity. It is an intelligence distributed everywhere, in which all knowledge resides in humanity, since no one knows everything, but everyone knows something. This broader definition encompasses processes such as consensus building, social capital, decision-making, and intellectual capital. Different actions, from a political party to a WhatsApp group, can be described as a form of collective intelligence.
Knowing how to interact and work together are indispensable skills for creating and producing more and better results. Working as a team, cooperating, and thinking collectively is an intelligent and sustainable concept. Creating a positive work environment depends on being approachable, positive, and ethical. Coexistence is interactivity. Collaboration is productivity.
According to Bernardo Toro, a Colombian educator, we must develop the ability to plan, work, and decide in groups. This means knowing how to associate, how to work and produce in teams, and how to coordinate—strategic skills for productivity and fundamental to democracy. The ability to work, plan, and decide in groups is formed daily through an autonomous and cooperative teaching-learning model. Social Learning Theory states that people can learn from observing others who practice a certain behavior. This so-called observational learning explains the nature of children learning by observing people around them and, eventually, imitating them.
So, shall we do it together?
